Quick answer

To turn a voice memo into text, import the audio file into the NoteCube app. On iPhone, open the memo in Voice Memos, tap Share → Save to Files, then in NoteCube tap Record → Import a file. You get a speaker-labeled transcript, a summary and next steps. Your first 60 cumulative minutes are free.

How it works

  1. Get the file ready

In Voice Memos, open a recording and tap Share → Save to Files. Files from Android recorders, email or chat work too once they are in your phone’s Files app.

  2. Import it in NoteCube

Tap the record button on Home and choose “Import a file”. Audio and video files both work.

  3. Let it transcribe

Long files take a few minutes. It keeps going if you close the app and shows up in your records when ready.

  4. Read, replay and share

Tap any line in the transcript to replay that moment. A summary and next steps — or, for a class, the expressions you learned — are created alongside.

More than a block of text

Plain transcription leaves you with one long paragraph. NoteCube splits it by speaker and timestamp so you can find a moment and hear it again.

Results match the recording: decisions and next steps for meetings, new and mixed-up expressions for classes, a short summary for memos.

Mixed Korean and English? Fine.

A Korean lecture with English terms or an English meeting with Korean side talk can both be transcribed. Names and jargon can be misheard, so check important parts against the recording.

Where files are stored

Recordings and results are stored on servers to provide transcription and summaries; NoteCube is not an on-device-only service. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I transcribe for free?

Your first 60 cumulative minutes of transcription are free — once, not every month. Summaries of transcribed content stay free on every plan.

Can I transcribe recordings longer than an hour?

Yes. Minutes beyond your free allowance need Pro or credits. Pro includes 300 transcription minutes per month.

What about files on my computer?

Move the file to your phone (AirDrop, chat, cloud drive), then import it from the Files app.

Can I copy the transcript elsewhere?

Yes. From a record’s More tab you can send the full transcript or the summary to Notes, Mail or a chat app.
